Job Summary
Job Title: Assistant - Academic Support Fellow (ASF) Grade I
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana
Role Purpose
The Assistant - Academic Support Fellow will look after the operations of the Multi Activity Centres and provide for bridge schooling and remedial education support to children engaged in labour and mainstream them into formal education, supporting children to use materials provides, delivering life-skills education (for children between 6 - 14 years of age.
S/he will also be responsible for to maintain cordial relationship with external stakeholders at community level along with like schools, parents & community leaders.
Also act as Save the Children s advocacy representative in the district to a broad range of external stakeholders including relevant government departments on issues related to play way quality early childhood and primary education. Work under strong thematic supervision of the Project Assistant/Assistant Manager in order to maintain a consistent and coherent education strategy in the intervention area.
Role and Responsibilities
- Identification of children involved in child labour in the intervention area.
- Setting up of MAC (Multi Activity Centres) in the intervention area.
- Provide for bridge schooling and remedial education support to multi grade and multi aged children engaged in labour and mainstream them into formal education
- Liaison with the stakeholders.
- Identifying the challenges faced by the community and design a robust and sustainable solution.
- Work in close co-ordination with Project Coordinator to implement planned activities.
- Regularly communicate and work with local leaders, community influencers and duty bearers to build awareness and understanding among them with respect to the project objectives.
- Preparing monthly reports and documenting case studies and best practices of your respective MACs.
- Develop enabling setting for the children in the community
- Further, assist with any additional activities relevant to the project.
- S/he would document periodic progress, case studies of best practices etc of her assigned area and share with the Assistant Manager.
- Timely collection and submission of all MIS related information and data to Project Coordinator/Assistant Manager.
- Submit work plan on a weekly/monthly basis to the Project Coordinator/Assistant Manager.
- Submit monthly progress report to the Project Coordinator/Assistant Manager.

Candidate specification
- Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in relevant sectors with at least 1 years of experience working with AWC/School/ Community/ Children Groups/ Government stakeholders.
Essential Qualification
- Master or Graduate in social work experience or in any Teaching discipline from a recognized university or college
- B.Ed or teaching experience is essential
- Weightage will be given to candidates with experience related to women candidate/or anyone having sound knowledge on Child Protection & Community mobilization.
