We are looking for a Bengali Language Specialist with strong translation and localization experience to support multilingual content across digital products and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate and edit a variety of content, including UI content and long-form text .
- Perform linguistic and functional testing of translated products.
- Identify and resolve linguistic, grammatical, and cultural issues.
- Maintain and update terminology databases and style guides .
- Provide linguistic and cultural expertise for localization projects.
- Provide linguistic guidance and support to vendor translation teams.
- Ensure translated content is accurate, natural, culturally appropriate, and consistent.
What We’re Looking For
- 100% native fluency in Bengali and near-native fluency in English.
- 3+ years of experience in English ↔ Bengali translation.
- Strong editing and proofreading skills.
- Valuable understanding of Bengali culture, language nuances, and current trends.
- Experience in localization, linguistic testing, or digital content is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Translation Studies, Linguistics, Communications , or a related field.
- Experience working in the social media, mobile, web, or digital product space .
- Familiarity with Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools .
- Experience working with translation/localization vendors.
Candidate Requirements
Must-have:
1. Native-level Bengali fluency.
2. Near-native English proficiency.
3. 3+ years of English ↔ Bengali translation/localization experience .
