Project Controls Specialist (Utilities & Renewable Energy) Bangalore Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Specialist with expertise in cost estimation and project planning for utility infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will support transmission, distribution, substation, and renewable energy integration programs by developing accurate cost estimates, supporting budgeting activities, analyzing project risks, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Key Skills: Cost Estimation & Cost Control Project Controls & Budget Management Transmission & Distribution (T&D;) Systems Substation Infrastructure Renewable Energy Integration (Solar, Wind, Energy Storage) Capital Project Planning Vendor & Contractor Bid Analysis Risk Assessment & Contingency Planning Cost Modeling & Forecasting Procurement Support Project Scheduling Tools (P6) SAP and Advanced Excel-Based Estimation Models BOQ Development & Cost Breakdown Structures Key Responsibilities: Project Scope Review & Analysis Review engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, layouts, BOQs, and technical specifications. Identify project components, materials, labor requirements, and construction activities. Coordinate with engineering and planning teams to validate project assumptions. Cost Estimation & Development Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cost estimates. Develop material, labor, equipment, and construction cost breakdowns. Utilize historical data, market intelligence, vendor quotations, and cost databases. Vendor & Contractor Cost Evaluation Analyze quotations for major electrical and civil equipment.



Compare vendor proposals and identify cost variances. Support bid evaluations and contractor negotiations. Budgeting & Financial Planning Develop project cost models and capital investment estimates. Identify major cost drivers and escalation risks. Support management reviews, funding approvals, and investment planning. Risk & Opportunity Analysis Assess project uncertainties, supply chain risks, permitting challenges, and site constraints. Apply contingency calculations and risk-based cost adjustments. Participate in project reviews and risk assessment workshops. Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate with engineering, procurement, scheduling, and project management teams. Validate construction sequencing, outage planning, and resource requirements. Provide cost guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Cost Database Management Maintain and update internal cost libraries and estimating templates. Track actual project costs and perform estimate-versus-actual analysis. Drive continuous improvement in estimating methodologies.
