Job Summary
n
We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Design Engineer with experience in CATIA and NX for the design and development of Automotive Exhaust Systems . The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in 3D modeling, 2D drafting, GD&T;, manufacturing processes, and product development within the automotive domain. The role involves designing exhaust components and assemblies while ensuring compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing feasibility.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Design and develop automotive exhaust system components using CATIA V5 and NX .
n
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
n
- Develop and modify exhaust system layouts, brackets, hangers, mufflers, pipes, catalytic converter assemblies, and related components.
n
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and apply GD&T; principles.
n
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, CAE, Testing, Quality, and Purchasing.
n
- Support product development activities from concept to production.
n
- Ensure designs comply with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal engineering guidelines.
n
- Participate in design reviews and implement engineering change requests (ECR/ECO).
n
- Conduct feasibility studies considering cost, performance, quality, and manufacturability.
n
- Support prototype development, validation testing, and production launch activities.
n
- Maintain BOMs, engineering documentation, and product databases.
n
n
Mandatory Skills
n
n
- Solid experience in CATIA V5 and NX CAD .
n
- Experience in Automotive Exhaust Systems design and development.
n
- Knowledge of sheet metal components, weldments, tubing, and fabrication processes.
n
- Good understanding of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) .
n
- Experience in 3D modeling, assembly design, and detailing.
n
- Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes.
n
- Understanding of tolerance stack-up analysis.
n
- Experience with BOM creation and engineering change management.
n
- Familiarity with APQP, DFMEA, and automotive product development processes.
n
n
Preferred Skills
n
n
- Exposure to emission control systems and after-treatment products.
n
- Knowledge of vehicle packaging and routing studies.
n
- Experience working with OEMs and Tier-1 automotive suppliers.
n
- Understanding of validation and testing requirements for exhaust systems.
n
- Exposure to PLM tools such as Teamcenter or Windchill.
n
n
Educational Qualification
n
n
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related discipline.
n
