POSITION SUMMARY: Lead Enterprise Business Applications (EBA) team(s) to provide needs analysis, documentation, software development, system testing, and maintenance and ensure the functionality and integrity of Garmin IT applications and systems. Assure appropriate software systems quality control and documentation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide day to day guidance and leadership for a team of software engineer resources responsible to implement reliable, scalable and secure solutions in collaboration with the Global Enterprise Business Application teams.
Collaborate to prioritize global projects across Garmin's Business Units and international IT teams
Direct the analysis of business requirements and design of related systems to meet business requirements as defined by global or local business teams.
Apply formal Systems Development Life Cycle process to assure functionality, security, quality and regulatory compliance of deployed systems
Work with global teams and IT staff to ensure systems comply with existing infrastructure requirements and integrate with security systems, network infrastructure, and other business systems
Oversee monitoring and expand software systems as needed to assure adequate security, performance and capacity
Collaborate with global teams to establish system support mechanisms to assure global systems are available as required
Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced product owners, software engineers and analysts
Provide leadership and management presence in cooperation with local management
Build healthy team relationships and guide associate career development
Collaborate with EBA global teams to research and recommend new related technologies and solutions to meet business needs
Perform job functions independently with minimal direction from global EBA management
Gain understanding and apply detailed knowledge of Garmin processes and procedures
Recruit, develop and retain a high performing team including conducting annual performance evaluations




Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Garmin's Business Intelligence solutions and enterprise data warehouse platforms to provide secure, scalable, efficient, and consistent access to enterprise data that supports Garmin's strategic and operational objectives.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor of Science in Data Science, Computer Science or equivalent degree from a four year college or university OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Must possess a minimum of 10 years of continuous experience in delivering domain specific solutions or substantially similar experience within a structured Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process
Provides a proven track record in successful project management
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
Excellent time management and follow-up skills
Demonstrated hands-on experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica or equivalent enterprise data integration tools, with proficiency in PySpark and other open-source data engineering technologies. Ability to provide technical leadership through code reviews, design reviews, and technical mentoring.
Hands-on experience developing enterprise dashboards and reports using BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, OBIEE, or similar visualization tools
Proficient in SQL-based reporting and knowledgeable in data warehousing and ETL processes.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Post Graduate degree in Business or IT
Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Payment Card Industry (PCI), Information Technology Information Library (ITIL), or other regulatory issues
Experience with large-scale Data Warehousing and data modeling
Post Graduate degree in Data Science or Analytics
