The role

You'll build the backend systems that carry client money, portfolios and market data services that have to be correct, rapid and auditable. This is an early-stage team, so you'll own features end to end: design, build, ship, monitor. No handoffs, no ticket queue.

What you'll do
Design and build backend services and APIs in Python and Go
Model and optimise data layers for portfolio, transaction and market data
Build event-driven pipelines for real-time feeds, reconciliation and reporting
Integrate third-party systems — custodians, RTAs, exchanges, KYC and payment providers
Own reliability: testing, observability, alerting and on-call for what you ship
Write clean, reviewed, well-tested code and raise the bar in design discussions

What we're looking for
3–6 years building production backend systems
Robust in Python or Go,



with genuine willingness to work across both
Solid grounding in system design, data structures and distributed systems
REST and gRPC API design; microservices in production
PostgreSQL or MySQL with real query and schema optimisation experience
Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar message queues; Redis for caching
AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD
Comfortable with ambiguity and early-stage ownership

Preferred
Fintech, wealthtech, brokerage or capital markets backend experience
Exposure to market data feeds, order management, portfolio accounting or reconciliation
Experience with low-latency, high-throughput systems
Understanding of data security and regulatory-grade audit trails
