About the chance
We are partnering with a Private Equity fund to recruit a Chief Financial Officer for a recent NBFC platform being built from the ground up.
The CFO will be a fund appointee, working alongside the operating management team. This is a rare prospect to be at the founding table of a PE-owned NBFC, shaping its financial architecture, governance, and scaling trajectory from day one.
Key responsibilities
Financial control & reporting
Establish and own the controllership function — accounts, MIS, audit-ready financials from day one
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to the Board and PE investors
Ensure compliance with RBI NBFC regulations, Ind AS, and all statutory obligations (GST, TDS, ROC)
Treasury & ALM
Build and manage the liability franchise — bank lines, NCDs, and other borrowing instruments
Own Asset-Liability Management (ALM), liquidity risk, and interest rate risk frameworks
Lead fundraising and capital market activities in line with growth targets
Manage cost of funds and optimize the funding mix as the AUM scales
Strategic finance & investor relations
Act as the primary financial interface with the PE fund — reporting, covenants, and governance
Drive financial planning, budgeting, and AUM growth projections
Support portfolio company M&A; or acquisition diligence as the platform expands
Build the financial systems and technology infrastructure fit for scale
Regulatory & governance
Interface with RBI for all regulatory reporting, audits, and compliance matters
Implement board governance frameworks aligned with PE fund expectations
Monitor capital adequacy (CRAR), NPA provisioning, and credit risk metrics
Ideal candidate
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA); 18+ years of experience in financial services, with significant tenure in NBFC
Hands-on experience managing AUM of ₹2,500 crore and above
Prior Board-level or CFO-designate exposure strongly preferred
