Knowledge of RDBMS concepts and should have expertise on Oracle database.
Knowledge of UML or any other standard modeling tool though not necessary but will be preferred. His depth will vary based on experience
Knowledge of development tools like Eclipse and Version control system SVN / VSS / CVS and Bug tracker
In depth knowledge on application servers like WebLogic & WebSphere will be an add on
Positive to have, knowledge on other development tools like ANT, JUNIT, Cruise Control etc.
