Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation: Operate plate straightening machines to correct distortions and achieve required flatness in steel plates.
Material Handling: Load, align, and secure plates for straightening operations.
Blueprint Reading: Interpret engineering drawings and specifications for plate dimensions and tolerances.
Quality Control: Inspect plates for flatness, thickness, and dimensional accuracy after straightening.
Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor troubleshooting of straightening machines.
Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols, use PPE, and ensure secure handling of heavy plates.
Documentation: Record production data, machine settings, and inspection results.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of straightening processes, metallurgy, and fabrication standards.
Precision: Ability to achieve accurate flatness and maintain consistent quality.
Problem-Solving: Quick troubleshooting of machine errors and plate defects.
Teamwork: Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and production engineers.
Physical Stamina: Ability to handle heavy plates and work in demanding manufacturing conditions.
Qualifications
ITI/Diploma in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing preferred.
2–4 years of experience in plate straightening or fabrication processes.
Familiarity with inspection tools (straight edges, gauges, measuring instruments).
