JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose:

To ensure smooth operation of sulphonation processes, maintain product quality standards, and support production, quality control, and research activities in line with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Production Support
Monitor sulphonation process parameters (temperature, pressure, acid concentration, SO₃ feed, etc.).
Conduct batch sampling and testing to ensure reaction consistency.
Assist in optimization of sulphonation reaction conditions for yield, purity, and cost efficiency.
Support troubleshooting of process deviations.
Quality Control (QC)
Carry out routine testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products (active matter, acid value, color, moisture, pH, etc.).
Maintain calibration and proper use of laboratory instruments (titrators, spectrophotometers, GC, HPLC if applicable).
Prepare and maintain analytical test reports and certificates of analysis (COA).
Ensure compliance with BIS / ISO / customer specifications.
Research & Development (R&D;) (if applicable)
Develop and validate current analytical methods for sulphonated products (LABSA, SLES, AOS, etc.).
Assist in scale-up studies and pilot plant trials.




Contribute to product development for detergents, surfactants, and specialty chemicals.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety protocols while handling sulphuric acid, SO₃, and other hazardous chemicals.
Ensure adherence to environmental norms for effluent and emission.
Maintain MSDS records and participate in HAZOP / safety audits.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain laboratory records as per GLP (Good Laboratory Practices).
Prepare daily/weekly QC and production reports.
Support ISO audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.

Key Skills & Competencies:
Solid knowledge of sulphonation chemistry and surfactant industry.
Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques and instrumental analysis (GC, HPLC, FTIR).
Good understanding of chemical safety and hazardous material handling.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Full time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
