Maintaining Sterility:They are vigilant in maintaining a sterile workplace, preventing contamination, and adhering to strict surgical protocols.
Instrument Management:Scrub nurses count and track instruments, sponges, and needles throughout the procedure to ensure nothing is left inside the patient.
Patient Care:They may assist with patient positioning, prepare the surgical site, and help with post-operative care, such as wound dressing.




Documentation:Scrub nurses document the instruments and supplies used, as well as any relevant patient information.
Communication:They communicate effectively with the surgical team, including the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and other nurses, to ensure a smooth and coordinated surgical process.
