Lead Software Engineer

Summary: The Lead Software Engineer designs, develops, writes, modifies and implements software solutions consisting of applications and/or components. Write a large amount of code, design, communicate ideas to the team, implement and ultimately be able to step in and handle any component or the entire life cycle of the process.
Responsibilities
Develop and/or provide software solutions to the business in accordance with established specifications, and considerate of IT priorities, follow a process like the following:
Participate in requirements gathering
Analyse technical requirements and help determine feasibility
Work with Business team, Project managers, Stakeholders, and other team members to design and recommend solutions
Follow work instructions, procedures and established standards in coding and delivering the identified solution on time and on budget
Document and test the delivered solution, and assist with end user training as required
Maintain the delivered solution per business requirements




Enhance existing systems by analysing business objectives, preparing an action plan and identifying areas for modification and improvement
Maintain existing software systems by identifying and correcting software defects
Be available outside of normal working hours when required to troubleshoot and update mission critical applications
Create technical specifications and test plans
Consult closely with team and business management related to projects, milestones & tasks
Consult colleagues concerning maintenance and performance of software systems
Developing software using Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, MySQL, SmartGWT framework
Positive hands-on experience in Git, AWS
Relationships/Contacts
Reports directly to the Manager, Application Development.
Works with employees at all levels of the organization.
This position does not have any direct reports.
