We are looking for a mechanical CAD designer to join our manufacturing team in Sivakasi. The role will primarily involve designing and developing spare parts, machine components, and other mechanical requirements related to match manufacturing machinery and equipment.
The candidate will be responsible for preparing and modifying 2D/3D CAD drawings, developing practical designs for fabrication and machining, and supporting the production team with technical solutions.
The role may also involve occasional civil/structural design work related to factory modifications, machinery installation, layouts, and other projects.
When design work is not required, the candidate will be expected to support production operations, troubleshoot mechanical issues, coordinate with fabricators/machinists, and assist in solving day-to-day technical problems.
Key Responsibilities
Design and modify machine spare parts and mechanical components
Prepare 2D and 3D CAD drawings
Develop drawings for machining, fabrication and manufacturing
Measure existing components and create drawings/models from them
Support maintenance and production teams with mechanical solutions
Troubleshoot mechanical and machine-related problems
Coordinate with machinists, fabricators and suppliers
Assist with machine modifications and improvements
Prepare occasional civil/structural drawings and factory layouts
Support production activities when design work is not required
Assist in developing practical and cost-effective engineering solutions
Requirements
Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Valuable knowledge of AutoCAD
Knowledge of SolidWorks, Creo or similar 3D CAD software is an advantage
Ability to understand mechanical drawings and measurements
Knowledge of machining, fabrication and mechanical components
Practical problem-solving ability
Willingness to work both in the design office and on the production floor
Freshers with robust practical/CAD
