Job Description – Pre-Primary Teacher

Position: Pre-Primary Teacher
Department: Pre-Primary Wing (Nursery / PP1 / PP2)
Location: Pallavi International School, Sagar Road
Reporting To: Pre-Primary Coordinator / Principal

Role Purpose

The Pre-Primary Teacher is responsible for creating a protected, nurturing, and stimulating learning setting that supports the holistic development of young learners. The teacher will promote cognitive, social, emotional, language, and motor skill development through play-based and experiential learning methods.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans as per the school curriculum.
Use play-way, activity-based, and experiential teaching methodologies.
Develop foundational skills in phonics, literacy, numeracy, and general awareness.
Conduct storytelling, rhymes, art, craft, music, and creative activities.
Encourage curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking.

Classroom Management
Maintain a protected, positive, and child-friendly classroom environment.




Ensure discipline using positive reinforcement techniques.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of classroom materials.
Supervise students during classroom activities and transitions.

Student Development
Observe, assess, and support each child’s academic and emotional growth.
Encourage social interaction, confidence, and good habits.
Identify students needing additional support and provide guidance.

Assessment and Documentation
Maintain student records, anecdotal observations, and progress reports.
Prepare assessment reports and participate in evaluation processes.
Maintain portfolios and documentation as per school requirements.

Parent Communication
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
Address parent queries professionally and constructively.
