Position Summary:

The Orthopedic Operation Theatre Assistant supports orthopedic surgeons during surgical procedures by preparing the operating theatre, maintaining sterile environments, and managing surgical instruments and supplies. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth, secure, and efficient functioning of the OT.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare the operation theatre before surgeries by arranging instruments, equipment, and materials
Assist in pre-operative patient preparation including positioning and draping
Maintain strict aseptic techniques and sterilization standards throughout procedures
Hand surgical instruments and materials to the surgeon during operations
Manage and sterilize instruments using autoclave and other methods
Assist with intra-operative procedures such as tibia interlock surgeries




Ensure the proper functioning of OT equipments.
Support the surgical team in post-operative cleaning and resetting of the theatre
Maintain accurate surgical logs, instrument checklists, and inventory records
Follow hospital infection control policies and safety guidelines
Assist with patient transfer, monitoring, and documentation as needed

Qualifications:
Certificate or Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology (DOTT) or Ophthalmic Assistant program
Prior experience in an ophthalmic surgical setting is preferred
Familiarity with ophthalmic surgical instruments and equipment
Basic understanding of common procedures
BLS certification is a plus
