The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily housekeeping operations, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance standards are consistently met. The role includes supervising housekeeping staff, inspecting rooms and public areas, managing inventory, and ensuring excellent guest or occupant satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff.
Assign cleaning duties and monitor work performance.
Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and facilities to ensure cleanliness and quality standards.
Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping team members.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment.
Report maintenance issues and coordinate with the maintenance department for repairs.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Handle guest or customer requests and resolve housekeeping-related complaints promptly.
Prepare staff schedules and manage attendance.
Maintain housekeeping records, inspection reports, and inventory logs.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; diploma/degree in Hospitality Management is preferred.
2–5 years of housekeeping experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning chemicals, and safety practices.
Robust leadership and team management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work versatile shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Basic computer skills for reporting and scheduling.
