Position: Manager – Trade Mark

Position Summary:

The Manager – Trademarks will take complete end-to-end ownership of the organization’s trademark and brand protection portfolio across two distinct business verticals: FMCG
(fast-paced, high-volume product launches and aggressive marketing timelines) and
Pharmaceuticals
(highly regulated, therapeutic-class restricted, and high-risk).

This role requires a blend of rapid-track clearable strategies and strict regulatory risk mitigation. You will oversee brand, product name, and logo clearances, manage full-lifecycle prosecution, handle contentious proceedings, and drive external counsel to align trademark strategies with commercial goals.

Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Search & Brand Clearance
Conduct comprehensive trademark, preliminary, and availability searches for proposed brand names, product names, logos, taglines, and trade dress across global and regional databases.
Evaluate risks for rapid-moving
FMCG
launches (ensuring speed-to-market without infringing third-party rights) and
Pharma




products (evaluating phonetic/visual similarities, look-alike sound-alike [LASA] risks, and safety/regulatory overlaps).
Deliver explicit, actionable legal risk assessments and clearance opinions to marketing, R&D;, and executive leadership.
Registration, Prosecution & Portfolio Management
Manage the entire lifecycle of trademark applications from filing to registration, renewals, and maintenance across international jurisdictions (via Madrid System or direct filings).
Draft, file, and track trademark applications across relevant classes
Prepare robust, strategic responses to Examination Reports and official objections issued by Trademark Registries.
Contentious Matters (Objections, Oppositions & Enforcement)
Identify, draft, and file Oppositions, Rectifications, Revocations, and Invalidations against infringing third-party marks.
Draft legal notices, cease-and-desist letters, counter-statements, and evid
