Hiring: Environment Concept Artist — Urban World Design / Games
We are looking for a robust Environment Concept Artist to help define and develop the visual identity of a large, playable urban world inspired by Hyderabad.
This is fundamentally a concept art role.
The artist should be comfortable using Blender or Maya for quick blockouts, spatial exploration and converting 2D ideas into clear 3D visual compositions.
The ideal person can move beyond creating attractive standalone images and think about how an entire city functions visually and spatially at street, neighbourhood and district scale.
What you will work on
Develop workplace concepts for streets, neighbourhoods, commercial areas, residential pockets and major urban spaces
Establish a believable visual identity for a Hyderabad-inspired contemporary/future city
Translate architectural layouts and gameplay requirements into strong visual concepts
Develop street-level compositions with believable scale, density and spatial hierarchy
Design building facades, frontage systems, boundary walls,
setbacks and urban edges
Explore variations in architecture without losing the identity of the larger city
Define secondary environmental layers such as:
signage
advertising
shopfronts
street furniture
utility elements
vegetation
parking
service areas
informal additions
weathering
imperfections
neighbourhood-specific details
Understand how terrain, slopes and elevation affect roads, buildings and urban character
Create quick 3D blockouts where required to validate scale, composition and spatial relationships
Develop paintovers and final concept frames from these blockouts
Work closely with environment artists who will translate the concepts into Unreal Engine
