Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up or program CNC machinery according to job specifications.
Load and secure workpieces using fixtures, chucks, or vises.
Execute CNC programs and monitor machine operation for abnormal sounds or vibrations.
Perform in‑process quality checks using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet dimensional tolerances.
Change worn or damaged cutting tools and adjust offsets as needed.
Maintain cleanliness of the machine area, remove chips, and ensure proper lubrication and cooling.
Perform daily maintenance and basic troubleshooting to reduce downtime.
Document production processes and adjustments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; vocational or technical training preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and GD&T.;
Understanding of CNC machinery, tooling, and machining processes.
Proficiency with measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
Mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM or G‑code is beneficial, especially in advanced roles.
