Senior Citizens' Care Home — Palluruthy, Kochi:
About the Role
We are setting up a new senior citizens' care home in Perumpadappu, Kochi. We are looking for a hands-on Facility Administrator / Manager to lead the project from the ground up — from lease finalisation and licensing through renovation, staff recruitment, and full operations. This is a founding role with the opportunity to shape a much-needed community care institution from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Setup Phase
- Finalise the lease/licence agreement for the building.
- Coordinate trust/society registration and all statutory licences (Senior Citizens Act registration, trade licence, fire NOC, FSSAI, etc.)
- Oversee building renovation and fit-out to elder-care standards, working with contractors and vendors
- Set up administrative systems: budgeting, vendor contracts, and office processes, together with the Accountant
Recruitment & Training
- Plan and execute phased staff recruitment (nursing, caregiving, kitchen, housekeeping, security, and support roles) in line with occupancy growth
- Conduct or coordinate induction and care-protocol training for all staff
Ongoing Operations
- Manage day-to-day facility operations, ensuring high standards of resident care, safety, and hygiene
- Oversee the Head Nurse, kitchen, housekeeping, security, and front-office teams
- Manage resident admissions, family communication, and fee collection
- Monitor budgets and operating costs against plan; report regularly to the Managing Committee
- Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance and maintain relationships with local hospitals, doctors, and authorities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (postgraduate qualification preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in facility management, hospital/healthcare administration, or eldercare/hospitality operations; prior experience setting up or running an old age home, nursing home, or similar care facility is a strong advantage
- Working knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements for care homes in Kerala
- Strong people-management skills, with experience leading multi-department teams (medical, kitchen, housekeeping, security)
- Good financial acumen — comfortable with budgets, vendor negotiation, and cost control
- Excellent communication skills in Malayalam and English
- Compassion for elderly care and alignment with the charitable, community-service mission of the institution
- Willingness to be based in/near Kochi and available for a hands-on, on-site role
What We Offer
- A founding leadership role in a new institution.
- Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
- The prospect to build and shape care standards, systems, and team culture from the ground up
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹37,000.00 per month
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
Work Location: In person
