Job Description: Draftsman/Designer - MEP

About the role:

MEICON is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Draftsman/Designer to support design and drafting activities for US-based infrastructure and civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality MEP drawings, 2D/3D models, and construction documentation in alignment with client standards and international codes. As an MEP Draftsman/Designer, the individual will be part of a dynamic team working on complex civil, transportation, and infrastructure projects, with strong opportunities for professional growth.

Skills and Responsibilities:

- Develop high-quality civil and structural drawings, layouts, and 2D/3D drafting support using AutoCAD, BIM tools, and MicroStation in accordance with US project standards.
- Prepare detailed plans, profiles, cross-sections, grading drawings, utility layouts, steel/RC detailing, and other construction documents.
- Create and modify CAD/BIM models, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to project specifications.
- Interpret and convert engineer markups, sketches, and design inputs into precise technical drawings.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project managers to resolve drawing discrepancies and update revisions.
- Ensure all drawings comply with client-specific CAD standards for transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Maintain and manage the drawing register, file organization,



and documentation control in accordance with client and company protocols.
- Conduct quality checks of drawings and models prior to submission to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness.
- Ensure adherence to BIM execution plans, model coordination requirements, and project workflow procedures.
- Provide drafting support across multiple work fronts and meet timelines for deliverables in fast-paced project environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams across India and the US.
- Participate in design review meetings and incorporate feedback promptly.
- Stay updated with the latest drafting and modeling technologies relevant to US infrastructure projects.

Requirements and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical discipline.
- 3–6 years of hands-on drafting experience in MEP infrastructure or transportation projects.
- Strong expertise in AutoCAD (2D/3D) , BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks, or equivalent), MicroStation (mandatory)
- Experience working on US-based MEP or infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of US drafting standards, including AASHTO, DOT (state-specific), and other applicable guidelines.
- Ability to prepare HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection drawings with minimal supervision.
- Experience preparing sheet sets, title blocks, annotation standards, and MEP drafting templates.
- Solid ability to read and interpret MEP specifications, equipment schedules, and engineering drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple drafting tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills, documentation ability, and time-management discipline.
- Ability to coordinate with global project teams through virtual meetings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
