Experience
10+ Years of experience in Nursing Administration, preferably with experience in a multi-specialty / tertiary-care hospital.
Qualification
B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing
Valid registration with the respective State Nursing Council is mandatory.
Maximum Age Limit : 55 years.
Job Purpose
To support the Nursing Superintendent in planning, coordinating, supervising and monitoring nursing services across the hospital, ensuring high standards of patient care, nursing practice, patient safety, infection prevention and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Nursing Administration
- Assist the Nursing Superintendent in the overall administration and functioning of nursing services.
- Ensure effective implementation of nursing policies, procedures, protocols and standards across all clinical areas.
- Coordinate nursing activities between wards, ICUs, OTs, emergency services and other patient-care departments.
- Patient Care & Quality Standards
- Monitor the quality and safety of nursing care provided to patients.
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, nursing standards and patient-safety practices.
- Conduct regular rounds and identify gaps in nursing care, documentation and patient services.
- Take corrective and preventive actions wherever required.
- Manpower Planning & Deployment
- Assist in preparing nursing duty rosters and ensure adequate staffing based on patient census and acuity.
- Monitor attendance, leave, shift allocation and manpower utilization.
- Support recruitment, deployment, orientation and induction of nursing personnel.
- Identify manpower requirements and communicate staffing gaps to management.
- Supervision & Performance Management
- Supervise Nursing Managers, Nursing Supervisors and staff nurses.
- Monitor individual and departmental performance and provide guidance for improvement.
- Participate in performance appraisal and competency assessment of nursing personnel.
- Address nursing staff-related concerns and maintain discipline and professional conduct.
- Training & Development
- Identify training needs and coordinate regular in-service education programmes.
- Facilitate orientation and competency-based training for newly joined nursing staff.
- Promote continuous career development and adherence to evidence-based nursing practices.
- Conduct training on patient safety, infection control, emergency response and other relevant clinical practices.
- Infection Prevention & Patient Safety
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control practices.
- Monitor hand hygiene, PPE usage, biomedical waste management and other infection-control measures.
- Support implementation of patient-safety initiatives and risk-reduction programmes.
- Participate in investigations of clinical incidents, medication errors, falls and other adverse events.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely nursing documentation and maintenance of patient records.
- Monitor compliance with statutory,
regulatory and hospital accreditation requirements.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of identified gaps.
- Maintain nursing-related reports, records, statistics and performance indicators.
- Coordination with Clinical Departments
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, clinical departments, quality, infection control, HR, pharmacy, laboratory and other support services.
- Facilitate smooth communication between nursing teams and hospital management.
- Address operational issues affecting patient care and escalate critical matters appropriately.
- Patient & Attendant Relations
- Ensure professional, compassionate and patient-centred nursing services.
- Monitor and address patient/attendant complaints related to nursing care.
- Promote effective communication and maintain high standards of patient experience.
- Operational & Resource Management
- Monitor the availability and appropriate utilization of nursing equipment, consumables and other resources.
- Ensure proper maintenance and functioning of nursing equipment.
- Coordinate with relevant departments for timely replenishment, maintenance and replacement of equipment.
- Emergency & Critical Situations
- Support nursing teams during medical emergencies, mass casualty situations and other critical events.
- Ensure nursing preparedness for emergency response and disaster management.
- Participate in hospital emergency drills and preparedness programmes.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
