Position Summary
· We are seeking a highly motivated Supervisor – Explosive Filling to lead and oversee explosive filling and ammunition assembly operations . The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and quality-driven production while maintaining compliance with defense manufacturing standards, statutory regulations, and internal quality systems.
·The role requires solid expertise in production management, explosive filling processes, manpower handling, troubleshooting, continuous improvement initiatives, and shop-floor leadership to achieve production targets with zero safety incidents and optimum operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
· Production & Process Management
· Supervise and control day-to-day explosive filling and ammunition assembly operations.
· Ensure smooth execution of:
· Projectile Assembly
· Explosive Filling (HE, Incendiary, DP, etc.)
· Fuze Assembly & Integration
Final Inspection & Packing
· Monitor production output and ensure adherence to production schedules.
· Drive improvements in OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), productivity, and line efficiency.
· Maintain process discipline, dimensional accuracy, and product traceability.
· Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, tools, and consumables.
· Coordinate with Machine Shop, Quality, Maintenance, and Planning teams for uninterrupted production flow.
· Maintain OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery commitments.
Quality Assurance
· Ensure compliance with DGQA, PESO, JSG-0102, STANAG, and internal quality requirements.
· Drive First Pass Yield (FPY) improvement and rejection reduction initiatives.
· Analyze production and quality performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
· Review assembly drawings, component drawings, and process documentation to ensure product conformity.
· Ensure complete lot traceability through MES/SAP systems.
Safety & Compliance
· Enforce strict adherence to explosive handling and safety protocols.
· Conduct safety awareness programs and toolbox talks for operators.
· Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
· Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and promote a Zero Incident culture.
· Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to EHS regulations.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
· Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive maintenance activities.
· Perform first-level troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
· Collaborate with maintenance teams for quick resolution of equipment failures.
· Ensure maximum equipment availability for continuous production.
Continuous Improvement
· Lead Kaizen, TPM, 5S, Quality Circle, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
· Conduct Root Cause Analysis using Why-Why Analysis and 7 QC Tools.
· Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities related to tooling, consumables, and processes.
· Drive process optimization and productivity enhancement projects.
· Team Management
· Supervise and lead shop-floor personnel during shift operations.
· Allocate manpower effectively based on production requirements.
· Mentor, train, and develop team members for skill enhancement.
· Build a performance-driven and safety-focused work culture.
Reporting & Documentation
· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
· Maintain production records, quality data, downtime reports, and shift reports.
· Ensure timely SAP transactions and documentation compliance.
Educational Qualification
· Mandatory: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
· Experience: 3-6 years of experience in Production, Assembly, Manufacturing, or Explosive Filling Operations.
· Experience in defense manufacturing, ammunition production, explosives, ordnance, pyrotechnics, or related industries will be highly preferred.

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,100,000.00 per year
