The CT and MRI Technologist is responsible for safe, high-quality examinations, including patient screening, positioning, protocol execution, image quality assurance, basic troubleshooting, and documentation—while ensuring strict adherence to MRI safety, infection control, and departmental SOPs.

Key responsibilities

1) Patient workflow & communication

- Verify patient identity, procedure, and clinical indication.
- Obtain brief focused history relevant to MRI (symptoms, surgeries, implants, prior imaging).
- Explain procedure, address anxiety/claustrophobia, provide clear instructions.
- Prepare patient (remove metal objects, change into gown, ensure comfort and privacy).

2) MRI safety (non-negotiable)

- Perform detailed MRI safety screening for implants/foreign bodies/pacemakers/aneurysm clips, etc.
- Ensure zone discipline (Zones I–IV), access control, and safe handling of ferromagnetic objects.
- Follow emergency protocols (quench awareness, code blue workflow, secure patient removal from Zone IV).
- Maintain safety documentation and incident reporting as per SOP.

3) Scan execution & image quality

- Position patient accurately; select appropriate coils and immobilization.
- Run protocols as per department guidelines (brain, spine, MSK, abdomen/pelvis, angiography, etc.).
- Optimize parameters when needed (SNR, motion control, artifact reduction) while staying within SOP.
- Check images for coverage, motion/artifacts, and repeat sequences when indicated.

4) Contrast handling (if applicable at your centre)

- Confirm eGFR/renal function policy compliance and contraindications.
- Follow contrast checklist, consent process (as per local policy), and documentation.
- Coordinate with nurse/doctor for IV access and manage basic contrast reaction protocol as trained.
- Record contrast type, batch/lot, dose, time, and any adverse events.

Documentation & PACS/RIS workflow

- Ensure correct patient demographics and study labels.
- Push complete studies to PACS; ensure series naming, orientation, and key sequences are correct.
- Maintain logs: machine usage, contrast register, daily QA, downtime, and repeat scan reasons.

6) Equipment care & quality checks

- Daily/weekly system checks (as per vendor recommendations).
- Basic troubleshooting (coil issues, artifact identification, network transfer checks).
- Maintain cleanliness of coils, gantry, patient table; follow infection control policy.
- Report faults promptly; coordinate with service engineers.

7) Coordination & professionalism

- Coordinate with radiologist for protocol modifications and urgent findings workflow.
- Work with front desk and nursing staff to maintain schedule and patient flow.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with centre policies and regulatory requirements.

Required qualifications

- Diploma / BSc in Radiology Imaging Technology / MRI Technology (or equivalent).
- Prior experience in MRI operations preferred (freshers may be considered with supervised training).
- Knowledge of MRI safety principles and common contraindications.

Skills & competencies

- Strong understanding of MRI protocols, anatomy, and artifacts.
- Patient handling skills (painful patients, elderly, pediatric, claustrophobic).
- Attention to detail (labels, laterality, completeness, documentation).
- Calm under pressure; safety-first mindset.
- Basic computer skills (PACS/RIS, workstation, email/WhatsApp coordination as per policy).

Working conditions

- Shift-based duties (including weekends/holidays as per roster).
- Exposure to emergency situations requires adherence to safety and training.
- Must follow uniform, ID, and infection control standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
