Job Description – Project Manager
Position: Project Manager – Interior Commercial Projects
Location: Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
Employment Type: Full-Time
Department: Project Execution
Reporting To: Project Director / Management
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to independently manage the complete execution of a commercial interior project in Bhopal, from project planning and mobilisation through execution, coordination, quality control, handover, and close-out.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in commercial interior fit-out projects, excellent site management and coordination skills, and hands-on knowledge of MS Project for project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain the complete project execution schedule using MS Project.
- Prepare detailed work programmes covering civil, interior, MEP, furniture, finishes, and other project activities.
- Establish activity durations, dependencies, milestones, and critical path.
- Monitor planned vs. actual progress and take corrective action for delays.
- Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports.
2. Complete Site Execution
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day execution of the commercial interior project.
- Plan and coordinate all site activities to ensure timely completion.
- Supervise civil, partition, ceiling, flooring, painting, carpentry, furniture, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, ELV and other MEP works.
- Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, BOQ, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, consultants, PMC, client representatives, and design teams.
3. Team & Subcontractor Management
- Lead and manage site engineers, supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Allocate resources and manpower according to project requirements.
- Monitor contractor productivity and workmanship.
- Conduct regular coordination and progress meetings.
- Ensure all agencies work in accordance with the approved project schedule.
4. Drawing & Design Coordination
- Coordinate with the architectural, interior design, structural and MEP teams.
- Ensure the latest approved drawings and revisions are available at site.
- Identify design discrepancies and site constraints and coordinate for timely resolution.
- Ensure proper RFI, drawing revision, and change management.
5. Quality Control
- Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, material standards, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate inspections and approvals with the client/PMC/consultants.
- Monitor finishing quality and ensure snag-free execution.
- Maintain proper quality documentation and inspection records.
6. Procurement & Material Management
- Coordinate with the procurement team for timely availability of materials.
- Prepare material requirement schedules based on the project programme.
- Track material approvals, procurement, delivery, and installation.
- Ensure materials are received, stored, and used appropriately at site.
7. Cost & Commercial Monitoring
- Monitor project quantities and execution against the approved BOQ.
- Identify variations, additional works, and scope changes.
- Coordinate with the commercial team for measurements, billing, variations, and subcontractor payments.
- Minimise material wastage and avoid unnecessary rework.
8. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with site safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with the Safety Officer to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure appropriate PPE, work permits, housekeeping, and safety practices are followed.
- Immediately address unsafe working conditions.
9. Client & Consultant Coordination
- Act as the primary project execution representative at site.
- Maintain professional communication with the client, PMC, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Attend site meetings and provide accurate progress updates.
- Resolve site-level issues proactively and escalate critical matters to management.
10. Handover & Project Closure
- Plan and coordinate snagging, rectification, testing and commissioning.
- Ensure all works are completed as per approved scope.
- Coordinate final inspections and client handover.
- Ensure submission of as-built drawings, warranties, test reports, O&M; documents, and other close-out documentation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's/Diploma degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in commercial interior / turnkey project execution.
- Proven experience managing projects from mobilisation to final handover.
- Strong knowledge of commercial interior construction and MEP coordination.
- Experience in managing multiple contractors and site teams.
- Hands-on proficiency in MS Project is mandatory.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD and ability to understand architectural/interior/MEP drawings.
- Knowledge of project documentation, BOQ, measurements, billing, and quantity control.
- Solid communication, coordination, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Performance Expectations
The Project Manager will be expected to:
- Deliver the project within the approved timeline, budget, and quality standards.
- Maintain an updated and realistic MS Project schedule.
- Identify potential delays and execution issues well in advance.
- Ensure minimum rework through proper drawing and site coordination.
- Maintain effective communication between design, procurement, site, contractors, client, and PMC teams.
- Ensure the project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Preferred Candidate: A hands-on Project Manager who can independently take ownership of a commercial interior project at Bhopal and drive the project from planning → execution → coordination → quality → handover.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
