Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL & AWS Data Engineer with 7+ years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL, AWS infrastructure, database connectivity, and data migration. The ideal candidate should have robust experience connecting PostgreSQL databases with AWS services, particularly Amazon EC2, and managing large-scale data migration and integration activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions using PostgreSQL and AWS.
- Manage PostgreSQL databases hosted on-premises and/or in AWS environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot PostgreSQL connectivity with AWS EC2 instances.
- Perform end-to-end data migration between on-premises, cloud, and AWS environments.
- Develop and execute migration strategies while ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
- Perform database backup, restore, replication, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Develop ETL/ELT pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading data.
- Monitor data pipelines, database performance, and AWS infrastructure.
- Work with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, and related data services.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, authentication, networking, and performance issues.
- Automate data engineering and database administration tasks wherever possible.
- Collaborate with application, cloud, and data engineering teams to support migration and integration projects.
- Ensure data security, availability, quality, and compliance throughout migration processes.

Required Technical Skills

PostgreSQL

- 7+ years of strong experience with PostgreSQL.
- Advanced SQL, stored procedures, functions, indexing,



and query optimization.
- Database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Backup, restore, replication, and database maintenance.
- Experience with large-volume data migration.

AWS

- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Amazon EC2 – instance configuration, connectivity, security groups, and troubleshooting.
- Amazon S3 for data storage and migration.
- Amazon RDS / PostgreSQL experience is preferred.
- IAM, CloudWatch, VPC, security groups, and basic AWS networking.
- Experience working with AWS-based data migration solutions.

Data Engineering & Migration

- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience in database-to-database and on-premises-to-cloud migrations.
- Experience migrating large datasets with minimal data loss and downtime.
- Data validation, reconciliation, cleansing, and quality checks.
- Knowledge of Python or scripting for automation is preferred.
- Experience with tools such as AWS DMS, pg_dump/pg_restore, or similar migration tools is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with AWS DMS and PostgreSQL migration projects.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
- Understanding of networking concepts such as VPC, TCP/IP, ports, DNS, and security groups.
- Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code is a plus.
- AWS certification is a plus.

Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
