Transport Operations and Route Management

- Plan, review, and optimise school bus routes, stops, and schedules to ensure safe and efficient transportation of students and staff.
- Ensure timely arrival and departure of all school vehicles.
- Monitor daily deployment of buses, drivers, and attendants.
- Manage substitute arrangements in case of vehicle breakdown, driver absence, or other operational requirements.
- Review transport routes periodically based on student enrolment and operational needs.
- Maintain accurate records of students using the transport facility.

2. Student Safety and Security

- Ensure the safety and security of students during boarding, travel, and drop-off.
- Ensure that all buses are operated in compliance with applicable transport and school safety requirements.
- Ensure the availability and proper functioning of safety equipment, including first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and other required equipment.
- Ensure proper attendance and handover procedures for students using school transport.
- Investigate and report any accident, incident, delay, safety concern, or misconduct occurring during transportation.
- Conduct regular safety checks and mock drills, where applicable.

3. Driver and Transport Staff Management

- Supervise and manage bus drivers, attendants, and other transport staff.
- Prepare duty rosters, deployment plans, and leave/absence arrangements.
- Ensure all transport staff maintain professional conduct and follow school policies.
- Conduct regular briefings and meetings on safety, discipline, student behaviour, and operational procedures.
- Identify training requirements and coordinate appropriate training for drivers and attendants.
- Monitor staff performance and report concerns to the Management/HR.

Vehicle Maintenance and Fleet Management

- Ensure regular inspection, servicing, maintenance, and fitness of all school vehicles.
- Maintain vehicle-wise maintenance and service records.
- Coordinate with authorised workshops, vendors, and service providers for repairs and maintenance.
- Monitor vehicle breakdowns and ensure timely corrective action.
- Maintain records of fuel consumption, mileage, repairs, servicing, and other operational expenses.
- Monitor vehicle utilisation and recommend replacement or addition of vehicles when required.

5. Statutory Compliance and Documentation

- Ensure that all vehicles have valid registration, insurance, fitness certificates, permits, pollution certificates, and other statutory documents, as applicable.
- Maintain records of driving licences and other required documentation of drivers and transport staff.
- Ensure timely renewal of all statutory and operational documents.
- Maintain transport registers, inspection records, incident reports, maintenance logs, and other relevant documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government, transport authority, and school transport safety requirements.

6. Parent and School Coordination

- Address and resolve parent queries and concerns related to transport services in a timely and professional manner.
- Coordinate with school leadership, administration, security, HR,



and other departments for smooth transport operations.
- Communicate changes in routes, timings, stops, or transport arrangements to parents and relevant stakeholders.
- Support transport planning for school events, field trips, competitions, excursions, and other activities.

7. Budget and Vendor Management

- Assist Management in preparing and monitoring the annual transport budget.
- Monitor transport-related expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimisation without compromising safety or service quality.
- Coordinate with transport vendors, vehicle service providers, fuel suppliers, and other external agencies.
- Verify bills and supporting documents related to transport operations before submission for approval.

8. Emergency and Incident Management

- Act as the primary point of contact for transport-related emergencies.
- Ensure appropriate action and escalation in the event of accidents, vehicle breakdowns, medical emergencies, or other incidents.
- Maintain emergency contact details for students, parents, drivers, and relevant school personnel.
- Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

9. Reporting and Continuous Improvement

- Submit periodic reports on transport operations, vehicle utilisation, maintenance, incidents, costs, and other key areas.
- Analyse recurring issues and recommend improvements in routes, safety procedures, staffing, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for transport operations.
- Support periodic audits and reviews of the transport function.

Job Type: Full time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
