Technical Program Manager - SoftwareLocation: Pune / BangaloreAbout Spiro Spiro is building the operating system for electric mobility across Africa - spanning battery swapping infrastructure, fleet operations, energy commerce, and CRM - live across nine markets (Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Morocco, Benin, Togo, and Cameroon). Backed by $200+M in funding, we're working on top-notch, cutting-edge technology to solve problems at genuine IoT, fintech, and mobility scale - real-time data pipelines, connected hardware, and platforms that run physical infrastructure, not just dashboards. We build systems designed to scale to billions of events a day and over 1 million transactions a day, and engineered for 99.999% uptime. We're looking for exceptional engineers and leaders to join us in Pune or Bangalore to help build this platform. This isn't a "big company problems, big company headcount" environment - you'll own systems end-to-end, with a bar for technical rigor set by experience at top product tech companies, but a working style built for a company still being built. The RoleWe need a Technical Program Manager who can hold together cross-team delivery across a genuinely complex platform - many engineering teams, nine markets, hardware and software dependencies colliding constantly, building toward systems designed to scale to billions of events a day and over 1 million transactions a day, engineered for 99.999% uptime. This isn't status-update TPM work; you need enough technical depth to spot risk in a design doc, not just a Gantt chart. What You'll Do- Own end-to-end program management for cross-cutting initiatives (e.g., current market launches,
security frameworks, platform migrations) that touch multiple engineering teams and external partners (telecom carriers, hardware vendors, regulators).- Translate FY OKRs into sequenced, dependency-aware execution plans across our CRM, Energy Commerce, Battery Swapping, Fleet Operations, and Platform Services domains.- Identify and de-risk technical dependencies before they become blockers - you understand enough about our modern, top-notch technology stack and cloud infrastructure to ask the right questions in design reviews, not just track ticket status.- Run rigorous but lightweight program rituals: no bureaucracy for its own sake, but enough structure that nothing falls through the cracks across nine markets and multiple time zones.- Drive DORA-style delivery metrics and CI/CD health reviews in partnership with Engineering Managers and DevOps.- Manage vendor and partner coordination where programs depend on external parties (e.g., connectivity providers, hardware manufacturers).- Escalate early and clearly - your job is to surface risk before it's a crisis, not to protect a green status report. What You Bring- 8+ years in technical program management, ideally with experience at a top product tech company running complex, multi-team programs,
followed by startup or scale-up experience.- Strong enough technical background (former engineer, or long TPM tenure in distributed systems environments) to evaluate technical risk directly rather than relying entirely on engineering leads.- Proven track record running programs with hardware/software dependencies, multi-region rollouts, or regulated-market complexity.- Excellent structured communication - you can write a one-page plan that a CTO and a field operations lead both understand.- Comfort with startup-level ambiguity: no dedicated PMO, no army of coordinators - you build the process you need as you go.Nice to Have- Experience in IoT, mobility, fintech, or energy sectors.- Experience coordinating multi-country regulatory or telecom partner dependencies (e.g., eSIM/M2M connectivity rollouts).- Familiarity with Jira/Confluence-based program tracking at scale.Common to All Three RolesWhy Spiro- Real infrastructure, real stakes: your systems run physical battery swap stations and vehicle fleets, not just dashboards.- We're looking for exceptional engineers and leaders - the technical bar of a top product tech company, without the bureaucracy - you'll make decisions and see them shipped in weeks, not quarters.- A genuinely hard, genuinely interesting problem space: distributed IoT, real-time data at scale, multi-market operations, and emerging-market infrastructure constraints all at once, built on top-notch, modern technology.Location: Pune / BangaloreOur Footprint: Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Morocco, Benin, Togo, Cameroon.
