We are looking for a skilled BIW Fixture Design Engineer with 2–6 years of experience in automotive fixture design and concept development. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in BIW fixture design, concept design, and CATIA V5, with a valuable understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly requirements, and automotive body-in-white structures. Experience with Siemens NX and 3D finish will be an added advantage.

The role involves developing robust, accurate, and manufacturable fixture solutions for BIW assembly operations while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure designs meet technical and production requirements.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop BIW fixtures, checking fixtures, assembly fixtures, and related tooling based on product and manufacturing requirements.




- Create detailed fixture concepts considering part geometry, assembly sequence, accessibility, clamping, locating, welding, and operator ergonomics.
- Develop 3D fixture models and detailed designs using CATIA V5.
- Interpret and work with automotive body part drawings, GD&T;, specifications, and engineering requirements.
- Design locating and clamping systems to ensure dimensional accuracy, repeatability, and process stability.
- Develop fixture structures, components, supports, pins, clamps, brackets, and other tooling elements.
- Ensure fixture designs are practical, cost-effective, serviceable, and suitable for manufacturing.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and tooling teams to resolve design and production-related issues.
- Incorporate design changes based on engineering feedback, trials, manufacturing requirements, and quality observations.
