About the role
Design, develop, and maintain responsive, high-performance UIs using React.js (Hooks, Functional Components)
Convert UI/UX designs and wireframes into reusable, scalable, accessible code aligned with Tesco design standards
Implement and manage state using Redux, Context API, or Zustand
Optimise applications for performance, speed, Core Web Vitals, and accessibility (WCAG standards)
Ensure cross-browser compatibility and full responsiveness across device types
Write unit and integration tests for frontend components (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress or Playwright)
Produce test-driven features and demonstrate deep familiarity with TDD development practices
Follow best practices of continuous BDD/TDD/Performance/Security/Smoke testing
Identify patterns in code and refactor towards clean, maintainable, modular architecture with minimal guidance
Profile and optimise existing UI code; reduce bundle size and improve render performance
Commit code early and often; demonstrate solid understanding of version control and branching strategies




Automate testing and build pipelines by default; write secure code by default
