Business Development & Tendering Executive

Job Summary

Responsible for identifying new business opportunities, monitoring tender opportunities, coordinating the complete tendering process, preparing and submitting bids, developing client relationships, and supporting the company in securing profitable projects.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

- Identify and develop new business opportunities in construction, infrastructure, and related sectors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, developers, and government departments.
- Monitor upcoming projects and potential tender opportunities.
- Conduct market research to identify new clients, projects, and business segments.
- Maintain a database of prospective clients, projects, and tender opportunities.
- Follow up with clients and consultants regarding upcoming projects and requirements.
- Support management in developing business strategies and achieving sales targets.

Tender Identification & Prequalification

- Regularly monitor tender portals, client websites, newspapers, and other sources for relevant opportunities.
- Review tender notices, eligibility criteria, scope of work, BOQ, specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Evaluate tender opportunities based on project value, technical requirements, location, competition, resources, and commercial viability.
- Prepare tender chance summaries for management review.
- Coordinate preparation and submission of EOI, RFQ, RFP, prequalification, and tender documents.

Tender Preparation

- Coordinate with Estimation, Planning, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Management teams during the tender process.
- Study drawings, BOQ,



specifications, scope of work, and tender conditions.
- Coordinate with the estimation team for quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Obtain quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
- Assist in preparation of rate analysis, pricing, and commercial offers.
- Identify deviations, exclusions, risks, and special conditions in tender documents.
- Prepare tender queries and coordinate clarification with the client/consultant.
- Ensure all technical and commercial documents are complete before submission.

Tender Submission

- Prepare and coordinate complete tender submissions within the specified deadline.
- Ensure compliance with tender instructions, formats, checklists, and submission requirements.
- Coordinate submission of EMD, tender fees, bank guarantees, declarations, and other required documents.
- Maintain a tender tracker showing submission dates, tender status, bid values, and outcomes.
- Follow up on technical and commercial evaluations after tender submission.

Post-Tender Activities

- Coordinate responses to client/consultant queries and clarification requests.
- Participate in negotiations with clients and consultants when required.
- Track tender results and maintain records of successful and unsuccessful bids.




- Analyze reasons for unsuccessful tenders and provide feedback to management.
- Support contract finalization and handover of awarded projects to the execution team.

Required Qualifications

- B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
- 2–6 years of experience in business development, tendering, estimation, or construction.
- Experience in construction/infrastructure tendering is preferred.

Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of construction tendering procedures.
- Good understanding of BOQ, drawings, specifications, and contract conditions.
- Knowledge of rate analysis and construction costing.
- Good MS Excel and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with government and private-sector tender portals.
- Knowledge of e-tendering and online bid submission processes.
- Ability to analyze commercial and technical tender requirements.
