Job Description – Computer Hardware Engineer

Position: Computer Hardware Engineer

Department: IT / Technical Support

Experience: 1–3 years

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT hardware.

- Diagnose and repair hardware issues involving motherboards, RAM, HDD/SSD, SMPS, power supplies, and other components.

- Install and configure Windows operating systems, drivers, and required software.

- Troubleshoot networking issues such as LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and basic TCP/IP connectivity.

- Perform preventive maintenance and regular health checks of computers and IT equipment.

- Handle hardware upgrades, component replacement, system assembly, and upgrades.

- Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers.

- Maintain records of hardware, repairs, replacements, and service activities.

- Coordinate with vendors for warranty claims, repairs, and replacement of faulty components.

- Visit customer locations when required for installation, troubleshooting,



and maintenance.

- Maintain good communication with customers and provide timely resolution of technical issues.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.

- Knowledge of Windows installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

- Basic knowledge of networking, LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, and switches.

- Ability to assemble and disassemble desktop computers and replace hardware components.

- Knowledge of printers and other peripherals.

- Good problem-solving and communication skills.

- Willingness to travel to customer locations.

Qualification

- ITI / Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Computer Hardware, IT, Electronics, or a related field.

- Freshers with valuable technical knowledge may also be considered.

Preferred Experience

Experience in IT hardware sales, installation, AMC/service, desktop support, printer support, and on-site customer support will be an advantage.
