Role Description The Drone Design and Development Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing drone systems and components, with a focus on mechanical structures, propulsion, and payload integration. Day-to-day tasks include creating detailed mechanical and product designs, performing simulations, coordinating prototype fabrication,



and conducting functional and performance testing. The role involves active participation in research and development (R&D;) projects, documenting design iterations, analyzing test data, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to improve reliability, safety, and efficiency. This is a contract, in office role based at IIT Bombay in Mumbai, requiring regular interaction with laboratory staff, faculty, and project stakeholders to meet project timelines and objectives.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design, with the ability to apply core principles to drone systems.
Proficiency in Product Design and mechanical CAD tools for creating detailed models and engineering drawings.
Experience with Testing, validation, and performance assessment of mechanical and mechatronic systems.
