About the Role

Maiz is looking for a Food Safety & Compliance Manager, based out of our Mumbai Head Office and
reporting directly to the Head of Finance and Compliance, to own end-to-end food safety, licensing, and regulatory compliance across our pan-India operations. This role carries national ownership of FSSAI, health, and fire compliance across all Maiz locations — ensuring every outlet/kitchen operates within regulatory requirements while maintaining consistent, audit-ready quality standards across regions. The role is based in Mumbai with extensive travel across India to support outlet audits, launches, and regulatory liaison.

Key Responsibilities
• Own and manage FSSAI licensing (central/state) and renewals across all Maiz locations pan-India
• Ensure timely acquisition and renewal of Food License, Health/Trade License, Fire NOC/Fire License,




and Shop and Establishment License for every outlet and facility nationally
• Design, standardize, and roll out food safety SOPs (HACCP, GMP, hygiene protocols) uniformly across all
regions and units
• Build and manage a compliance calendar/tracker covering license validity, renewal timelines, and audit
schedules across every state and city Maiz operates in
• Conduct regular internal audits and mock FSSAI/civic inspections across locations; lead unit readiness for
external audits
• Serve as the primary liaison with FSSAI officials, municipal/health departments, and fire department
authorities across multiple states, managing region-specific regulatory nuances
• Coordinate licensing and compliance setup for recent outlet launches pan-India, ensuring no unit goes live
without full regulatory clearance
• Train and certify kitchen/operations teams across regions on food safety, hygiene, and handling
standards
