About the Role
DRS International School, Shamshabad, Hyderabad, is looking for an experienced and dynamic PYP Coordinator to lead the implementation and development of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) in a new/founder school environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of IB PYP pedagogy, curriculum planning, teacher mentoring, and school-wide academic leadership, with the ability to build systems and a strong PYP culture from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the IB PYP curriculum.
Ensure effective alignment of teaching and learning with IB standards and practices.
Guide teachers in inquiry-based, concept-driven and student-centered learning.
Support teachers with unit planning, transdisciplinary learning and assessment practices.




Conduct professional development and mentoring for PYP teachers.
Monitor curriculum implementation and academic standards across PYP grades.
Coordinate PYP documentation, assessments, learner profiles and action plans.
Promote international-mindedness, learner agency and holistic development.
Collaborate with the Principal, leadership team and teachers to establish solid academic systems.
Support the school through IB authorization and evaluation processes.
Maintain effective communication with parents and the wider school community.
Candidate Profile
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Education or a relevant subject; B.Ed preferred/required as applicable.
Strong experience working with the IB PYP curriculum.
Prior experience as a PYP Coordinator / IB Academic Coordinator / PYP leadership role preferred.
Strong understanding of inquiry-based and concept-based learning.
Experience in teacher training, mentoring and curriculum development.
