Role Overview:
- The Senior Planning Engineer will lead production planning activities, optimize resource utilization, ensure delivery commitments, and drive continuous improvement in planning processes.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Lead preparation of Master Production Schedules (MPS).- Perform capacity planning, machine loading, and manpower allocation.- Ensure alignment of production plans with sales forecasts and customer delivery commitments.- Monitor and control WIP levels, inventory planning, and material availability.- Analyze and optimize lead times, routing,
and BOM accuracy.- Drive resolution of production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.- Conduct detailed Plan vs Actual variance analysis and improve schedule adherence.- Ensure effective usage of ERP/MRP systems for production tracking and reporting.- Coordinate closely with Stores for Raw Material planning and issue control.- Generate advanced MIS & performance dashboards for senior management.- Mentor junior planning engineers and streamline PPC processes.
- Requirements:
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of production planning & control- Expertise in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle preferred)- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Positive understanding of manufacturing workflows- Leadership and team coordination skills- Advanced Excel & reporting skills
