Role Overview

PES Engineers Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Water Systems Expert to be part of its in-house engineering team for thermal power and Balance of Plant (BoP) projects. The candidate will be responsible for process design, engineering review, system integration, vendor coordination and technical leadership for water and wastewater treatment systems associated with large thermal power plants.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead process and system engineering for complete water and wastewater systems of thermal power projects.
- Handle engineering of Raw Water Treatment Plant, Pre-Treatment Plant, DM Plant, RO/UF systems, Condensate Polishing Plant, Potable/Service Water systems and associated chemical dosing systems.
- Handle engineering of Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), wastewater recovery/recycle systems and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems, wherever applicable.
- Develop and review design basis, process flow diagrams, P&IDs;, water balance diagrams, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, datasheets and technical specifications.
- Review system capacities, redundancy philosophy, performance guarantees, chemical consumption and utility requirements.
- Carry out technical bid evaluation of water-system vendors and support procurement in technical negotiations and vendor finalization.
- Review vendor engineering documents and drawings and ensure compliance with project specifications and performance requirements.
- Coordinate interfaces with mechanical, civil, electrical, C&I; and piping engineering disciplines.
- Participate in client/consultant design review meetings and independently resolve technical comments and engineering queries.




- Provide engineering support to project and site teams during construction, testing, commissioning and performance guarantee testing.
- Identify opportunities for design optimization, water conservation, reuse/recycle and reduction in operating cost.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IS/IEC standards, environmental requirements, statutory norms and client specifications.

Technical Expertise Required

- Solid experience in design and engineering of water and wastewater treatment systems for thermal power plants.
- Hands-on understanding of clarification, filtration, UF, RO, DM, ion exchange, chemical dosing and wastewater treatment processes.
- Strong knowledge of plant water balance, system hydraulics, equipment sizing and process guarantees.
- Experience in ETP, STP, recycle/reuse and ZLD systems for power or large industrial projects.
- Experience in complete EPC engineering cycle including basic engineering, detailed engineering, vendor engineering and commissioning support.
- Familiarity with NTPC / PSU / State Genco specifications and engineering practices will be preferred.
- Ability to independently review and technically challenge vendor designs and proposals.

Qualification

- B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical / Mechanical / Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
- M.Tech / M.E. in Environmental / Chemical / Water Resources Engineering will be an added advantage.

Candidate Profile

- 15+ years of relevant experience, with substantial exposure to water systems for thermal power / large EPC projects.
- Should have strong engineering-office experience; the role is primarily technical design and engineering, not site execution.
- Capable of independently owning complete water-system engineering packages and coordinating multiple vendors and disciplines.
- Strong technical documentation, analytical, coordination and client-facing skills.
- Office-based position in Gurgaon / Delhi NCR with project/site travel as required.
