Job Title - Warehouse Manager – Freight Forwarding Industry

Location – Mumbai (Bhiwandi)

Job Purpose

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, hands-on leader to build Pentagon's warehousing segment from the ground up, from market assessment and client acquisition to facility setup and day-to-day operations. This is a founder-style mandate: the person will wear both the sales and operations hat in the early phase, and grow into leading the vertical as it scales. This is not a role for someone who wants an established team and SOPs already in place it is for someone who wants to build them.”

Key Responsibilities

1. Warehouse Setup & Infrastructure

- Identify, evaluate, and procure suitable warehouse property.
- Oversee design, layout, and installation of racking, equipment, and IT systems.
- Establish operational processes, SOPs, and compliance frameworks.
- Ensure safety, security, and statutory requirements are met.

2. Operations Management

- Implement efficient inbound, outbound, and storage processes.
- Develop inventory control systems and reporting mechanisms.
- Coordinate with freight forwarding teams for seamless cargo handling.
- Introduce automation and technology for optimized workflows.

3. Business Development & Sales

- Generate new business opportunities through warehouse services.
- Collaborate with sales teams to pitch warehousing solutions to clients.
- Build relationships with freight forwarding partners and customers.




- Achieve revenue targets through warehouse utilization and value-added services.

4. Team Leadership & Development

- Recruit, train, and mentor warehouse staff.
- Build a performance-driven culture with clear KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with HR and safety policies.
- Foster teamwork and continuous improvement.

5. Strategic Contribution

- Provide insights for long-term warehouse expansion and scalability.
- Align warehouse operations with overall freight forwarding strategy.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead.

Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in freight forwarding.
- Proven track record of setting up and managing warehouse operations from scratch.
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, freight forwarding processes, and warehousing compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to drive sales and business development initiatives.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS).
