Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Stores Manager with 1215 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, materials handling, and store administration in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective receipt, storage, issuance, and control of materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting uninterrupted production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end stores and warehouse operations including receipt, storage, preservation, and issuance of raw materials, consumables, spares, and finished goods.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize stock variances through effective inventory control practices.
- Monitor inventory transactions and maintain stock accuracy in ERP systems.
- Conduct periodic cycle counts and annual physical stock verification.
- Coordinate with procurement, production, quality, and logistics teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Implement FIFO/FEFO practices and ensure proper material handling and storage conditions.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for stores and inventory management.
- Lead initiatives for warehouse optimization, space utilization, and cost reduction.
- Monitor KPIs such as inventory accuracy, inventory turnover, stock aging, and warehouse efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
- Manage a team of storekeepers,
warehouse supervisors, and material handlers.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Support audits and ensure documentation compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- 12–15 years of experience in Stores/Warehouse Management, preferably in Manufacturing, Engineering, Automotive, Electrical, or Industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and warehouse operations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory reporting tools.
