Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models, adhering to industry drafting standards, tolerances, and design specifications.
- Generate, maintain, and structure comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation packages for manufacturing and procurement.
- Perform on-site visits to capture precise physical measurements, verify site constraints, and validate existing setups for retrofit or current designs.
- Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to develop, optimize, and iterate product designs based on client requirements and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Track project timelines, allocate tasks among junior design staff, and ensure on-time delivery of all design milestones without bottlenecks.
- Lead project status reviews and technical coordination meetings with middle management, clients, and manufacturing leads to address material specifications, tolerances, and fabrication workflows.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Must have 2-4 years of experience in relevant field.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360 (strongly preferred) and AutoCAD. Familiarity with SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or PTC Creo is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in sheet metal design, flat pattern development, nesting optimization, and fabrication drawing standards.
- Skilled in using precision measurement instruments (Vernier calipers, micrometers, laser measures, and measuring tapes) with strong fluency in imperial/metric unit conversions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel for BOM management, technical reports in Word).
- Strong team leadership, project coordination, agile problem-solving, and clear cross-departmental communication.
