- Job Summary
- We are looking for a BIW Design Engineer with strong experience in automotive Body-in-White (BIW) design and hands-on expertise in CATIA V5. The candidate should have experience in any one or more of the following areas: Upper Body, Under Body, or Closures.

- The role involves 3D modelling, detailing, packaging, design development, engineering changes, and coordination with cross-functional teams for vehicle body components.

- Key Responsibilities
- Design and development of BIW components and assemblies using CATIA V5.

- Work on any one or more BIW domains:

- Upper Body

- Under Body

- Closures
- Create and modify 3D models, parts and assemblies as per design requirements.

- Develop 2D drawings and manufacturing details with GD&T.;

- Perform design modifications based on engineering changes and customer requirements.

- Support vehicle packaging and component integration activities.

- Check component interfaces, clearances and assembly feasibility.

- Coordinate with Styling, Manufacturing, CAE, Quality, Supplier and Packaging teams.

- Participate in design reviews and resolve technical issues.

- Support DFMEA, DVP&R;, design validation and engineering change activities where applicable.

- Ensure designs comply with automotive standards, design guidelines and project requirements.

- Support prototype, tooling and production-related design activities.

- Review and validate CAD data before release through the applicable PLM/PDM system.

- Strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5.

- Good knowledge of Generative Shape Design / Part Design / Assembly Design.

- Valuable understanding of BIW design and sheet-metal components.

- Knowledge of automotive body structure and manufacturing processes.

- Understanding of GD&T;, tolerance stack-up and engineering drawings.

- Knowledge of sheet-metal design, joining methods and manufacturing feasibility.

- Ability to interpret engineering specifications and technical drawings.

- Good communication and coordination skills.

- Preferred Skills
- Experience with ENOVIA / 3DEXPERIENCE / Teamcenter or other PLM systems.

- Knowledge of vehicle packaging and DMU.

- Knowledge of Weld, Spot Weld and joining concepts.

- Exposure to DFMEA, DVP&R;, APQP and change management.

- Experience working with OEMs or automotive Tier-1 suppliers.

- Knowledge of automotive BIW manufacturing and tooling.

- Education
- BE / B.Tech / ME / M.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production or related engineering discipline.
