Azure Administrator

Position: Azure Administrator

Experience: 3–5+ years of hands-on Azure administration experience

Certification: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) – Mandatory

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Azure Administrator with strong hands-on experience managing and securing Microsoft Azure environments in a production environment.

The candidate should have real-time experience in Azure infrastructure administration, Active Directory/Azure AD (Microsoft Entra ID), AD Connect/Entra Connect synchronization, networking, security, monitoring and backup.

As we operate in a HITRUST-compliant environment, the candidate must have a solid understanding of Azure security best practices, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, vulnerability management, access control, logging, monitoring and security hardening.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and maintain Azure resources including Virtual Machines, VNets, Subnets, NSGs, Storage Accounts, Azure SQL and related Azure services.
- Design and maintain secure Azure networking, including VPN, routing, private endpoints, DNS and network security.
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), users, groups, RBAC, MFA, Conditional Access and identity-related security controls.
- Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft Entra Connect / Azure AD Connect synchronization between on-premises Active Directory and Azure.
- Manage Azure AD / Active Directory integration and troubleshoot authentication and synchronization issues.
- Implement and maintain Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Azure security recommendations.
- Monitor Azure security posture and remediate security recommendations, vulnerabilities and configuration risks.
- Implement appropriate RBAC and least-privilege access across Azure resources.
- Configure and monitor Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and security/audit logs.
- Manage VM backup, recovery and disaster-recovery-related activities.




- Review and implement Azure security hardening according to organizational security policies.
- Manage Azure resources using Azure Portal, PowerShell and Azure CLI.
- Troubleshoot Azure infrastructure, networking, DNS, identity and connectivity issues.
- Maintain proper documentation of Azure configurations, changes, incidents and security controls.
- Support HITRUST, SOC and other security/compliance audits by providing required evidence, configurations, logs and documentation.
- Participate in vulnerability assessments, remediation activities and periodic security reviews.
- Follow proper change-management, access-control and approval procedures for production changes.

HITRUST / Compliance Experience Experience working in HITRUST, SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA or similar regulated environments is highly preferred.

Mandatory Requirements

- AZ-104: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate – Mandatory
- Minimum 3 years of practical Azure administration experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Entra Connect/Azure AD Connect.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud/Azure Defender.
- Strong knowledge of Azure networking and security.
- Experience troubleshooting production Azure environments.
- Positive PowerShell and Azure CLI knowledge.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory and Windows Server.
- Experience working with security/compliance requirements.

Preferred Certifications
- AZ-500 – Azure Security Engineer Associate
- SC-300 – Identity and Access Administrator
- SC-200 – Security Operations Analyst
- Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert

Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who has actually administered Azure production environments, rather than someone whose experience is primarily certification-based.

The ideal candidate should be able to independently deploy, troubleshoot, secure, monitor and document Azure infrastructure, work with on-premises AD and Azure identity synchronization, and proactively identify and remediate security gaps.

Strong hands-on Azure + AD/Entra + Defender for Cloud + security/compliance experience is essential.
