Salary
- Fixed Salary: ₹15,000-₹18,000 per month
- Performance Incentive: ₹5,000-₹8,000 per month
Job Purpose
To ensure maximum fleet availability by supervising vehicle maintenance, coordinating with drivers and mechanics, minimizing vehicle downtime, and ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and on time.
Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Fleet Operations
- Conduct daily inspection of all tippers, Poclains, and loader before deployment.
- Monitor vehicle availability and report non-operational equipment.
- Ensure vehicles are dispatched only after safety checks.
Breakdown Management
- Attend all vehicle breakdowns immediately.
- Arrange mechanics and spare parts without delay.
- Coordinate with drivers, workshop staff, and management until repairs are completed.
- Ensure breakdown response time is within company standards.
Preventive Maintenance
- Schedule preventive maintenance as per kilometer/hour intervals.
- Ensure servicing, greasing, oil changes, and filter replacements are completed on time.
- Prevent overdue maintenance.
Driver Coordination
- Maintain regular communication with drivers.
- Record daily vehicle complaints.
- Ensure drivers report defects immediately.
- Guide drivers on proper vehicle operation and care.
Workshop Coordination
- Allocate repair jobs to mechanics.
- Monitor repair quality and completion time.
- Verify repairs before releasing vehicles for operation.
Spare Parts & Inventory
- Identify spare parts requirements.
- Coordinate with the store for timely availability.
- Prevent delays due to shortages of critical spares.
Documentation
- Maintain:
- Daily fleet status
- Breakdown register
- Service schedule
- Repair history
- Tyre register
- Fuel and kilometre records
- Submit daily reports to the Fleet Maintenance Manager.
