Role description
About the Role
This role requires a proactive engineer with strong troubleshooting skills, operational excellence, and experience working in enterprise network security environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and optimize Fortinet FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW).
- Manage and support Zscaler ZIA and ZPA cloud security platforms.
- Perform firewall upgrades, patching, firmware updates, and lifecycle management.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize firewall policies, security rules, NAT, VPNs, and access controls.
- Monitor the health, performance, and availability of network security platforms.
- Manage IDS/IPS, proxy services, and network security controls.
- Troubleshoot complex network security incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Coordinate with Fortinet and Zscaler support teams for issue resolution.
- Participate in change management activities, including firewall rule implementations and maintenance windows.
- Work closely with Network Engineering, Cloud, Infrastructure,
and SOC teams to strengthen the organization's security posture.
- Perform security policy reviews, configuration audits, version compliance checks, and performance tuning.
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, operational runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
Required Skills:
- 7 to 9years of experience in Network Security Engineering or Security Operations.
- Solid hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls.
- Hands-on experience with Zscaler ZIA and/or ZPA.
- Experience managing firewall policies, VPNs, NAT, IDS/IPS, and proxy technologies.
- Experience with firewall upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, and network protocols.
- Experience with monitoring, incident management, ticketing systems, and change management processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
