You own post-production across a creative agency and a consulting group — cinematic brand films one week, founder interviews and campaign cutdowns the next.

RoughCut Labs has 13+ years of work across fashion, entertainment and brand, with campaigns for names like Coca-Cola, DLF, Tanishq, Reliance Brands and Jack Daniel’s. You will be editing at that standard, while also building the Group’s own content engine. Both matter.

What you'll actually do

Editing and post-production

- Edit brand films, campaign videos, product films, event recaps and fashion content for RoughCut Labs clients from rushes to final master
- Cut long-form Group content — founder interviews, thought leadership, deal explainers, webinars — and derive short-form cutdowns for each platform
- Handle the full post chain: ingest, sync, assembly, rough cut, fine cut, colour grade, sound design, mix, titling, delivery
- Design and animate motion graphics, lower thirds, kinetic typography, infographic sequences and title packages
- Master and deliver to platform specifications — aspect ratios, codecs, bitrates, caption files, thumbnail frames

Craft and story

- Make editorial judgements, not just technical ones — pace, rhythm, where a cut lands, what to cut entirely
- Work from a brief and a storyboard, and flag early when the footage will not support the intended story
- Maintain a consistent visual language across each brand while letting client work carry its own identity

Production and pipeline

- Support on set where needed — DIT duties, data wrangling, backup discipline,

- Own the media pipeline: asset management, project structure, naming conventions, archive and backup policy
- Manage multiple edits against client and campaign deadlines, and run revision rounds without losing versions
- Brief and review work from freelance editors and motion designers during high-volume periods

First 90 days looks like success if

You are running your own edits end to end without supervision, the media pipeline is documented and followed, and turnaround on standard formats has visibly shortened.

What we're looking for

Must have

- 5–10 years as a skilled video editor, with a showreel demonstrating both brand or commercial work and interview or corporate content
- Expert command of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects; DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro is also welcome
- Genuine colour grading ability — Lumetri or Resolve — and a working eye for matching shots across a sequence
- Sound design and audio mixing: cleanup, levelling, music selection and licensing awareness, mix for both broadcast and phone speakers
- Motion graphics capability strong enough to build a title package from scratch, not just apply presets
- Understanding of the whole production chain, codecs, colour spaces and delivery specs — you should not need a producer to tell you what to export
- Editorial instinct. We can teach the brand; we cannot teach a sense of when a cut is a beat too long
- Ability to hold quality across parallel deliverables under client deadlines

Good to have

- Fashion, editorial or entertainment post experience, given RoughCut Labs’ portfolio
- Cinema 4D, Blender or 3D motion capability
- Shooting ability — camera operation, lighting, or directing interview setups
- Experience editing finance or B2B content and making a genuinely dry subject watchable
- Familiarity with performance creative: hook testing, platform-native formats, iterating cuts against results

Who this role is not for

Someone who only cuts social reels from supplied templates, or who needs a fully directed brief for every project. This role carries editorial responsibility.
