Who You Are:
This position will be WFO/Hybrid, but you will be working closely with the United States and Canada teams through video chat, instant messaging, e-mail, phone, and our software. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral. Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Finance to lead the companys financial operations, accounting, tax, reporting, and financial planning functions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with U.S. GAAP, U.S. federal and state taxation, financial reporting, cash-flow management, and QuickBooks (QB).
This role requires a finance leader who can operate at both the strategic and operational levelsproviding executive-level financial insight while ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant day-to-day accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute the companys overall financial strategy in partnership with the CEO and executive leadership.
- Provide financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and recommendations to support business growth and strategic decision-making.
- Establish financial controls, policies, procedures, and reporting systems.
- Monitor company performance through key financial and operational metrics.
- Advise leadership on profitability, cash management, investments, cost optimization, and business opportunities.
U.S. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
- Ensure accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial schedules.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to executive management.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data in QuickBooks and related financial systems.
- Lead improvements to accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting procedures.
U.S. Tax & Compliance
- Oversee U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance in coordination with external tax advisors and CPA firms.
- Manage tax filings, tax planning, and compliance requirements for the organization.
- Ensure timely compliance with income tax, sales/use tax, payroll tax, and other applicable U.S. tax obligations.
- Coordinate annual tax returns, audits, reviews, and other external financial requirements.
- Identify tax-saving opportunities while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Management
- Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes.
- Develop cash-flow forecasts and manage working capital.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, margins, and operating performance against budget.
- Provide management with financial models and scenario analysis for strategic initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Serve as the primary finance contact for external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other financial partners.
- Coordinate financial audits, reviews, and due diligence activities.
- Develop and maintain effective internal controls and risk-management procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
- Establish performance standards and promote accountability and continuous improvement.
- Determine appropriate staffing, systems, and processes as the company grows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 18+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including senior financial leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and U.S. accounting practices.
- Significant experience with U.S. federal and state tax compliance and planning.
- Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks / QuickBooks Online.
- Demonstrated experience managing financial statements, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
- Experience working with external CPAs, tax professionals, auditors, banks, and financial institutions.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and financial processes.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification strongly preferred.
- Experience in a U.S.-based company with multi-state operations.
- Experience managing sales tax, payroll tax, and other state/local compliance requirements.
- Experience implementing or optimizing QuickBooks Online and accounting workflows.
- Experience with financial systems integration, automation, and process improvement.
- Experience supporting fundraising, M&A;, due diligence, or other strategic financial transactions.
- Prior experience building and managing a finance/accounting team.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance executive who combines strong technical accounting and U.S. tax expertise with strategic business judgment. They should be comfortable reviewing the details in QuickBooks and financial statements while also presenting high-level financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team.
