Job Role: Backup Engineer L2 (Veeam Backup)

Roles & Responsibilities

- Monitor daily backup, replication, and restore operations and ensure successful completion within SLA.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex backup/replication issues escalated from L1 support.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Execute backup and recovery operations including:

1. Instant VM Recovery
2. File-Level Restore
3. Application-Aware Restore
4. Database and granular recovery for SQL, Exchange, Active Directory, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SAP HANA, and NAS workloads

- Configure and manage:

1. Backup Jobs -

2. Backup Copy Jobs

3. Replication Jobs

4. Sure Backup/ SureReplica
5. Scale-Out Backup Repository (SOBR)

6. Hardened Linux Repository

7. Object Storage Integration
8. Perform Plugin-based backup and restore operations for enterprise applications and databases.
9. Configure and manage Agent-based backups using:

10. Veeam Agent for Windows

11. Veeam Agent for Linux

12. Protection Groups

- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot backup and restore for:

1. Windows Failover Clusters
2. SQL Failover Cluster Instances (FCI)

3. Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV)

- Manage Tape Infrastructure including:

1. Tape Libraries, Tape Drive, Media Pools

2. GFS Retention Policies
3. Tape Backup and Restore Operations

- Configure and monitor cloud backups for AWS, Azure, and Microsoft 365 workloads.
- Perform DR drills, failover/failback testing, and backup validation activities to meet RPO/RTO requirements.




- Use Veeam ONE for proactive monitoring, alerting, reporting, and capacity planning.
- Coordinate with virtualization, storage, network, and application teams for issue resolution and optimization.
- Maintain SOPs, RCA documents, backup architecture, and operational reports.

- Follow ITIL-based Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes.

Experience with:
- Veeam Backup & Replication (v11/v12 or later)
- Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365
- Veeam ONE
- Plugin-based backups
- Agent-based backups

- Protection Group creation
- Tape backup infrastructure
- Disaster Recovery operations
- Cloud and Object Storage integration

Good understanding of:
- Windows Server 2016/2019/2022

- Basic Linux Administration
- SAN/NAS Storage
- iSCSI/Fibre Channel
- DNS, DHCP, VLAN, Firewall, and Networking fundamentals
- Basic PowerShell scripting knowledge is an added advantage.

Soft Skill
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Strong ownership mindset with SLA-driven support approach.
- Flexible for shift support, weekend activities, and on-call support if required.

Qualifications: Any Graduate-B.Sc IT / BCA / B.E. / B.Tech / MCA or equivalent degree Job Location : Ghansoli (client site)

Relevant Experience: 3–5 years of experience in Backup Administration with robust expertise in Veeam enterprise environments.

Shift: 9:00 AM to 6 PM -Monday to Saturday (2nd & 4th Sat remote support)

Certification- VMCE (Veeam Certified Engineer),VMware VCP, Microsoft Certifications and AWS/Azure

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
