Job Summary The prospective candidate shall handle work related to:
- Analysis of AML transaction monitoring alerts generated through monitoring systems.
- Review of closed AML alerts to identify quality issues, trends, and emerging ML/TF risks.
- Preparation of periodic MIS, dashboards, and management reports.
- Identification of unusual customer behavior, suspicious patterns, and monitoring gaps.
- Data extraction, validation, and analytical review of alert populations.
- Tracking closure quality and TAT adherence for AML investigations.
- Coordination with business, operations, fraud risk, and technology teams for alert-related information.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct sample-based and thematic review of closed AML alerts to assess quality and consistency of investigations.
- Perform analytical review of AML transaction monitoring alerts and identify unusual trends.
- Prepare periodic MIS on alert volumes, productivity, closure trends, backlogs, and exceptions.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with internal AML/CFT policies, RBI guidelines, and PMLA requirements.
- Support preparation of regulatory submissions, audit requirements.
- Analyze large datasets using Excel and other analytical tools to identify risk patterns.
- Escalate significant deficiencies, suspicious trends, and process gaps to reporting manager.
- Maintain documentation and audit trail of analytical reviews performed.
- Support development of dashboards and key risk indicators relating to AML monitoring.
Key Decisions / Dimensions
- Identification and escalation of unusual alert trends and potential monitoring gaps.
- Selection of samples for quality review of closed AML alerts.
- Highlighting exceptions requiring management attention.
- Recommending process improvements and analytical enhancements in transaction monitoring controls.
Major Challenges
- Managing and analyzing large volumes of AML alerts and investigation data.
- Identifying meaningful risk indicators amidst high volumes of false-positive alerts.
- Ensuring consistency in review of alerts across multiple products and customer segments.
- Understanding evolving AML typologies, regulatory expectations, and risk indicators.
- Coordinating with multiple stakeholders for data gathering and validation.
Required Qualifications and Experience Skills
- Basic understanding of RBI KYC Directions, PMLA, AML/CFT requirements, and transaction monitoring concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis techniques.
- Ability to work with large datasets and generate meaningful insights.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and investigative mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
- Knowledge of AML systems, transaction monitoring tools, SQL, Power BI, or data analytics tools will be an added advantage.
Qualifications
- Graduate / Post-graduate in Commerce, Finance, Management, Statistics, Economics, or related discipline.
- Skilled certifications in AML/KYC, Financial Crime Compliance, or Data Analytics will be an added advantage.
Work Experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Operations, AML Operations, KYC, RCU, Risk Analytics, Internal Audit, or related functions.
- Freshers with strong analytical aptitude and interest in AML/KYC may also be considered.
- Prior exposure to transaction monitoring alerts, AML investigations, MIS preparation, or data analytics would be preferred.
