UAT Lead Financial Reporting

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced UAT Lead / Test Manager – Financial Reporting to lead User Acceptance Testing activities for financial reporting and finance transformation change initiatives. The role will work closely with Finance, Reporting, Data, Change, and Technology teams to ensure that reporting solutions meet business requirements, quality standards, control requirements, and regulatory expectations.
The ideal candidate will have robust experience in UAT, test management, financial reporting, data validation, reconciliations, defect management, and stakeholder governance, preferably within a financial services or other highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for Financial Reporting and Finance Transformation change initiatives.
- Develop and manage UAT strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, test data, and execution schedules.
- Translate business and reporting requirements into comprehensive testing scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate UAT activities across Finance, Financial Reporting, Change, Data, Technology, and business stakeholders.
- Ensure test coverage adequately validates functional requirements, reporting outputs, data accuracy, and business controls.
- Lead test execution, monitor progress, and provide regular status reporting to programme and senior stakeholders.
- Manage the complete defect lifecycle, including identification, triage, prioritisation, root-cause analysis, retesting, and closure.
- Coordinate with technology and delivery teams to ensure defects are resolved within agreed timelines.
- Perform and oversee financial data validation,
reconciliations, report-to-source checks, and variance analysis.
- Ensure UAT evidence, test results, approvals, and documentation are maintained to required governance and audit standards.
- Drive business sign-off and ensure all critical testing issues are resolved before release/go-live.
- Provide testing governance and oversight across multiple workstreams and reporting change initiatives.
- Support go-live, implementation, and post-production validation/hypercare activities.
- Ensure reporting solutions are fit for purpose and aligned with relevant control frameworks, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Identify testing risks, dependencies, and gaps and proactively communicate them to programme leadership.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of UAT processes, testing standards, templates, and governance frameworks.
Key Requirements
- 8–12 years of overall experience, with significant experience in UAT, Test Management, Business Testing, or Finance Change Testing.
- Strong experience within Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, or other regulated environments.
- Proven experience supporting Financial Reporting, Finance Transformation, Regulatory Reporting, or Reporting Change programmes.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting processes, data flows, reconciliations, and reporting controls.
- Hands-on expertise in:
- UAT strategy and planning
- Test scenario and test script preparation
- Test execution and tracking
- Defect management
- Business validation
- Test reporting and governance
- Business sign-off
- Experience validating financial/reporting data and performing reconciliations and source-to-report checks.
- Strong stakeholder management experience across Finance, Business, Data, Technology, Change, and Programme teams.
- Excellent understanding of risk, controls, governance, and audit requirements within regulated environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate data and reporting discrepancies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple testing workstreams, priorities, and stakeholders within tight delivery timelines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Finance Transformation / Regulatory Reporting programmes.
- Knowledge of GL, financial accounting, sub-ledgers, management reporting, or regulatory reporting.
- Exposure to SQL, data validation tools, BI/reporting platforms, or test management tools.
- Experience working with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, ALM, HP Quality Center, Azure DevOps, or similar test/defect management platforms.
- Experience in go-live readiness, production validation, and hypercare.
