As a Digii Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for developing scalable and maintainable backend services that support business-critical applications. You will work extensively with Java and Spring-based technologies, design RESTful APIs, and build event-driven solutions using Kafka.
The role involves participating throughout the software development lifecycle, from understanding requirements and designing solutions to development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support. You will also contribute to improving system performance, reliability, security, and engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring.
Build robust, secure, and high-performance RESTful APIs and backend services.
Develop event-driven and distributed systems using Apache Kafka.
Design productive application architectures that support scalability, reliability,



and maintainability.
Translate functional and technical requirements into well-designed software solutions.
Write clean, reusable, testable, and maintainable code following established engineering standards.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to coding standards and best practices.
Troubleshoot application issues and identify root causes across development and production environments.
Optimise application performance, scalability, and resource utilisation.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, frontend engineers, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders.
Develop unit and integration tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
Support CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and production-release activities.
Work with databases and external systems to develop reliable data-processing solutions.
Contribute to technical documentation, architecture discussions, and design reviews.
